Early access: pilots openBinSense smart sanitary bin sensor
Most sanitary bins are emptied on a fixed schedule, full or not. BinSense tells hygiene crews which bins actually need service, so routes skip empty bins and busy washrooms never overflow.
What each sensor measures
- 1.Fill level from a laser distance sensor, checked every 30 minutes
- 2.Odour from a VOC gas sensor, with alerts before complaints
- 3.Usage from lid openings, to find high-traffic washrooms
- 4.Battery and health, so offline sensors are fixed fast
Bins under 40% move to a later route automatically.
Who it helps
Fewer wasted trips. Cleaner washrooms.
Hygiene-service companies
Daily routes list only the bins due for service, with proof of every visit for your clients.
Facility managers
See every washroom across buildings or campuses, and catch overflow and odour before occupants notice.
FAQ
BinSense questions
What is BinSense?
BinSense is a clip-on sensor for standard sanitary bins. It reports fill level, odour and usage so hygiene crews service only the bins that need it.
Who is BinSense for?
Hygiene and janitorial service companies, and facility managers of offices, schools, universities, malls and hospitals with many washrooms.
Does BinSense use cameras or collect personal data?
No. It measures the bin, never people. There are no cameras or microphones.
How does it connect?
Each sensor reports over a low-power cellular (LTE-M) or LoRa network, so it does not need the building's Wi-Fi.
Where is BinSense available?
BinSense is in early access. Pilots are open to hygiene-service companies and facilities in Texas, USA, and to institutions in India.
